These guys have come out of nowhere - I'd be interested to see there fit and finish. I don't want to be a guinea pig though. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_05 I really like Ned's Dynaclones and the Hammonds.

Those Hammond 1650Ns are some of the best iron I've tested. I've got a clean 70W out of them with balls-to-the-wall biasing of KT88s.

Same here.... The first thought I had when checking these out was "Handwound".... Though I'm sure that they are far better than that.

I just don't like to buy the proverbial Pig in a Poke.

I just purchased a pair of EDCOR CXPP25-8-7.6K OPTs for my 6BG6GT amp. They are in my area so shipping didn't cost a bundle. The fit and finish seems better than Hammond (metallic blue end bells). I will report more after the amp is finished.

Hi mesherm,

If you could post or email me a couple close up pics, that would be fantastic. Thanks for being the guinea pig. ;)

Don't know if you've seen this or not but here's some more info on Edcor transformers.

I've often wondered how a Hammond 1650N would compare to a Dyna A-470.

My '70 still has the Handwound outputs, and was thinking of trying the Hammond's.
