Build a hifi tube amplifier with off the shelf components using the diytube printed circuit board, an IPC-compliant design. The PCB includes individual, adjustable cathode biasing which allows the user to match their tubes with precision. Instead of 12DW7's, the diytube stereo 35 uses a 12AX7A and 12AU7 combo.
It is a barebones kit meant for experienced tube hobbyists, and it includes:
* .092" thick PCB with top & bottom silkscreen - 50% thicker and with 100% more copper than your average PCB
* latest 'Rev D' layout more symmetrical and easier to build than ever!
* robust manual containing: straight-forward instructions, detailed schematics and assembly artwork - preview online (~500k PDF)
* parts list with Mouser.com part numbers and BOM support
* email support provided
Most parts can be purchased easily through Mouser, and vendors are suggested for the others (ie transformers, tubes, and tube sockets). I highly recommend using a SCA-35 as a 'donor' or using Triode Electronic's Uncle Ned's new manufacture replacements. But using Hammond transformers (such as the 270HX power transformer and 1650F outputs) can be done with excellent results, too. Volume control may be added for use without a preamplifier, but note that 850mVRMS is needed for full output. Design is to be oriented for a tube out construction.
