Get.SET.Go Amplifier Question

Postby jwhitmor » Fri Feb 06, 2015 9:55 am

Can anyone tell me the aproximate input sensitivity of the G.S.G as built to the original schematic. What does it take to drive it to full output assuming ~ 475K input impedace?
The information is probably here somewhere, but I have not found it.
Thank You!
j.w.
If it is not making X-rays, your B+ is too low.

1Vrms input for 3.5W out - about 15dB overall gain.

Thanks for the information Shannon,
I am still waiting for my transformers to arrive, so in the meantime, I am looking at pre-amp buffer, and gain stage schematics, and was wondering if I would need one. I believe my DAC has the usual consumer line level of ~ 0.5 Vpk (-10db). My speakers are rated 93dB / W (1m), so that half volt, should make some music, but I guess I should add a liitle gain ahead of the G.S.G, if I want to get all the volume I can (but will probably never need). The DAC would likely sound better at half output anyway.
