on the old bd. the 3 tube holes r 3/4 the tube r .800 i think the holes should be 13/16 .812 or .875 7/8

13/16" or 7/8" will work fine. You can make the chassis holes any size you'd like with 3/4" the minimum. I like the look of 3/4" and don't worry about cooling as the glass envelope is external.

hi
every thing is working fine but head phone jack putting high pitch/squelch. music is way in the background.
went from a noble to a alps rx27 no change. HELP.i can build but cant trouble shoot.

Pics will be great (particularly at the hookups). Are you saying everything works great but the headphone jack? Trick is to make sure the phase is correct and that the channels don't get swapped at the NFB.

I have a 4 pos. Rotary sw. Where would I hook up the output of the sw to. I have it tied in from in line to j1 to alps pot.
Maybe I should see where orig. Rca jack went to. Then put the output of the sw. There.

I'm pretty confused where you're at, Ray. What was working and what wasn't?

1) Disconnect the negative feedback at J8. This will fix two possible issues - wrong phase of feedback as well as channel feedback being swapped.
2) If things seem stable at that point, measure your voltages at V1, V2 and V3 and post them here.
3) Post some pix if you can, or email them to me.
