I'm trying to wrap my head around the differences between the VTA individual bias scheme and the DIYTube bias + balance scheme. I understand the VTA board allows you to (within reason) use a completely mismatched set of tubes and bias them all optimally, but doesn't the DIYTube board allow you to more-or-less do the same thing? You are biasing the L & R sections separately (which means the two channels do not need to be matched) and then adjusting the balance between the two tubes on each channel so they are also biased optimally (which means the individual tubes in each channel do not have to be matched either). Is the big difference simply the increased range of mismatch that you are allowed with the VTA board, or am I missing something important here?
Thanks in advance,
