Hi Hoghead,

The get*set*go boards are available ($49 like everything else). You could glom the circuit from Gary Kaufman's 6SN7 preamp and just omit the cathode follower. The get*set*go power circuit could remain the same. Whadaya think?

I would be interested, what else can you tell me about the design, any photos and have you built one? Jim

I rebuilt a PAS3 using an article in Audio Amateur from 4/82 called "The Last PAS" by David Vorhis. The mod converts the linestage to a single stage of amplification direct coupled to a cathode follower, and bypasses the tone controls. It is built on the stock circuit board. There is also an option to add a regulated power supply, but I kept mine pretty much stock.

I've been very happy with this preamp.

Hi Jim,

I've got one HERE.

Once again, this would be an semi-undocumented mod. I would suggest the Gary Kaufman 6SN7 preamp design with the getsetgo, minus the second half cathode follower. So it would be a simple 6SN7 gain stage with a 6AX5 rectifier.
