converting an organ amp

Hi - nice forum you have here!

I'm a guitar player in Augusta, Maine. It looks like I'm getting a twenty-watt amp that was pulled from an old Hammond organ, and I'm wondering if someone here has experience converting organ amps into guitar amps. I want to keep it to a simple two knobs. I have very little experience beyond a little bit of speaker and pot swapping and could use some coaching.

Thanks!

Remove most stuff in from in front of the phase splitter (inverter) and install/rewire your favorite preamp.

Thanks, Mike.

Sounds good. Actually, if I can get some basic information, I want to try using the chassis to build Dave Hunter's Two Stroke, a practice amp with a pair of 6V6s.

I am rather new at this myself but looking at the two stroke schematic it is running a parallel singled output which would mean a different output transformer. :(

You have most of the amp already built if you want to leave the el84's and want to use the preamp section from the two stroke.

Got the answers I needed. My best bet appears to be a Carmen Ghia clone. It uses the same tubes and transformers as the Hammond and has exactly the features I want: two knobs, one switch, one jack, and one light.

Thanks for your answers. They helped!
