EQ bypass question

Postby Newbietube » Mon Jun 30, 2014 2:12 pm

Hi, I built a bass amp based on the Hiwatt schematic. The tone stack is true to the design and for those not familiar it's a variation on the fender type design. It sounds great with my Fender but I have another bass that has active eq and I would like to run the pre amp without the amp eq, in other words bypass the eq for a flat response. What I want to know is will I need some kind attenuation to replicate the eq's signal loss and if so how much? And what is the best way to achieve this? I'm thinking of maybe a resistor and a pot so a level can be set, but not sure about values.
All advice welcomed.
Cheers Just
