Hum in my machine!

Postby clnsdlpr » Thu May 15, 2014 2:04 pm

Guys, I have this problem more than I like to think. I need some input. I have a basic Fender 2 x 12ax7 circuit. 1M Volume control after the tone stack. Up to the 12 o'clock position. Noise level is low. Last half of the clock (12>6) is where I get lots more noise. No grid resistor. What's up?
Tnx

Hi,

Homebrew Fender ckt? Layout is critical. You may have an oscillation.

Commercial ckt? Roll the tubes, one might just be noisy.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.
