Snubber Cap

Postby azarius » Mon Jan 27, 2014 6:26 am

i have a Peavy valveking which i modded, one thing i did was remove the resistor for the choke and installed a standard choke which has made a big improvement in the amp but the problem i am having, because of the way the standby was designed i am getting a pop when the stand by is turned on, the options i have is to rewire the standby to the rectifier diodes to break it right after the rectifier , put a resistor inline with the choke or a snubber Cap off of the switch, to bleed of the voltage spike i am getting.
I have a snubber cap what i don't know is if i should wire the cap to ground or inline with the circuit
any advice would be greatly apreciated
