JVM 410h Help

Postby 6B4G » Wed Sep 19, 2012 3:19 am

Hi guys I have a JVM 410h and I would like to change the EL34's to 6550's could anyone please help me with the mod. I was told that I only have to change the bias resistors from R38 and R50 36k to 82k and the G2 resistors R34-35 R40-41 from 1k 5watt to 2.2k 5watt. I do have the schematics for it if you need it.
Also If it can be done.

Thanks Guys

Can I also just do the change to one channel and have the EL34 and the 6550
as two sep channels?

I think I found the answer, you can only make the change to all tubes and not only to a pair. The reason is that it uses 4 tubes in a PP config with one OPT so saying that you are able to remove one of each side of the PP to reduce the amp to 50 watt plus you have to adjust your bias. It makes no difference if you take out the inner tubes or outer tubes of the pairs.
Saying this you can not use two dif tubes on one side of the OPT.

I think you got an amp we don't have experience with. Sorry for the lack of answering :(

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.
