Half Watt Guitar Amp

The power supply uses a 20uf, and a 40uf electro in the B+ supply.

Would swapping an oil/fil cap like a big ASC beer can give a better sound? I know on a regular audio amp you want caps with low ESR, but I don't know if thats true on an amp where distortion is part of the goal.

Actually, it's even more important because the gain is higher and motorboating or unltrasonic oscillations are a real problem.

This has been tested at guitar forums and the big oil things are phool's play. A good electro with a 100nF or 47nF across its terminals is just fine.

Cheers!

I built a little headcase for the amp from ΒΌ" ply.

They didn't play in browser for me. Right click, save as, and open them in Winamp worked fine.
