Forgive me..... I have sinned...

Well, I went and did it..... I bought a manufactured tube guitar amp.

I've been planning to build a guitar amp, but I never could decide which one to build. Plus, when I added up the parts costs for a few of those I was interested in, it was adding up to quite a bit of money. When I found a good deal on a Vox Night Train, I couldn't resist pulling the trigger.

Here is a picture of it:

I just received it today, so I haven't been able to spend too much time with it. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

So please don't give me too much crap about not building my own.... I will later, I promise. In the meantime, I can use this.

This is permissible, if you plan to mod the heck out of it ;-)

So, how's it sound? Never heard one of those myself.

Cheers!

Oh yeah, I definitely plan to mod it. (I can't leave anything alone.......) But I need to build up the 3 DynaMutts I bought from you first. ;)

I plan to install a choke in the PS and upgrade a few of the caps and resistors. I have new tubes on the way so I can start rolling them. This thing is actually built pretty well and I've read that the iron is oversized and of good quality.

Have heard good things about the little Vox's. Definitely an overdriven tone style of amp that offers some level of clean whem you roll the guitar volume off.

Keep us posted as to how the mods make it better.
