I just bought a pair of Alnico 12" Rola speakers on ebay that were from a 1959 Baldwin Organ. So far they seem to sound very nice. The guy I bought them from told me they "may" be the equivalent to old Jensen P12Q or something like that. There is more deals on ebay for similar speakers. Can anyone guide me to some info Rola Speakers.

I love Rolas :)

Rola made Celestion for years and used to be known as Rola-Celestion.

They are the most common speaker found in vintage organs.

They can be recognized by the # stamp on the basket or magnet that begins with "285", regardless of "manufacturer" sticker on the speaker.

Cheers!

Great, they are pretty inexpensive on ebay and seemed to make great guitar speakers. I know the two I have are Rola's but I was wondering how I can find the spec on them. Although I won't be using with a 100 watt head for thrash metal, probably use them with a classic rock low watt amp.

Alas, specs don't exist. You have to make your own - http://www.webervst.com/spkrcalc/para.htm

You can get an idea of the power rating from what it's out of. Failing that, assume 12" as 25W peak (15W RMS).

Cheers!
