Very professional looking! I like the look of the “old school” switch, knob, and power indicator light. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_12
Is that a Hammond Cage (aka “ventilated cover”)?
If so, where did you find one in black? I have only seen the ugly gray color.
That would be a great chassis/cage combo for a GSG or darling amp.

Thanks for the links Tom and dhuebert. I think I see a retro looking GSG amp in my future.

Very nice job,
Since my son start getting into his electric guitar I was thinking of building the same amp, possibly building it into a cabinet with a 12" speaker.

Yes, very nice!

What are those captive nuts used to attach the bottom plate and the black perforated cover?

And what kind of printing is on the chassis?

The captive nuts are called nut-serts and can be had from your local fastener supplier.

The lettering is Letraset. I mourn the demise of Letraset. It was a great tool.

Now that I got the Deluxe mostly finished (Does anybody know where I can get a proper "Fender" logo (???) I'll throw together a "champ" on a small chassis, and use the Triode "Champ" transformer set, which I have, the 5F2 power tannie, 22699 chole and TF103 OPT. Or perhaps a "mutant" using 6N2P and one of the TV vertical sweep tubes which are near equivalent to 6V6, like 6JB5 or 6EW6, instead. TBD... :/

I originally got two of the "Champ" sets of for some other 6V6 small SEP project that failed to launch. I won't bother trying to make this one into a true "clone", it will be a separate amp and 8 or 10 incher speaker box.

(The two TF103s used for the 6BM8 amp were more recently acquired).

Looks like you're starting to run out of Ms but then the Ws can be used, upside-down

(reminds me of the "blonde joke" about the inspector at the M&Ms factory, who got fired because she was rejecting all the Ws and 3s) (lol) ;) (lol) ;) (lol)

Somewhere in the stash I have several very old sheets of Letraset with military symbols, which were intended for use with topographical maps, depicting actual or theorized military scenarios. Not much use for tube amps, unfortunately... :'(

Maybe it's a dumbo question, but how did you turn black Letratype into red (???)

I had a bunch of those Hammertone logos screenprinted on a sheet of aluminum that I had spray painted with hammertone paint. I took it to a friend who has a nice shear and cut them into individual pieces. It was kinda expensive, but worth it. I may have to do another bunch someday.
