Lafayette KT-320 ... is it a Dynaco ?

Postby TomMcNally » Mon Feb 20, 2006 8:49 pm

I saw a Lafayette KT-310 amp on eBay - and it looks like a Dynaco ST-70 with 6BQ5's ... anyone have any history ? It's from 1957.

Hi All,

Just from the looks of it, I'd say it's possibly Acrosound, which was David Hafler's company before he started Dynaco. The circuit boards are similar to Acrosound's, and the color is very Acrosound.

I'm not sure who the American OEMs were for Lafayette's kits, but there was more than one. Trio (Kenwood) was the primary OEM for Lafayette's Japanese kits, as well as the stuff Radio Shack, Olson, Burstein-Applebee and others sold under their own names
