I doubt that DC filaments would do much for you in this design, but the negative bias supply for the LTP tail is pretty interesting. You could then be more aggressive with the current set resistor for the LM334Z.
Of course, using the extra winding for the driver filaments alone would let you fiddle with 12BH7's as drivers with zero stress. I like that idea.
