What should be the better option - Dynakit or Triode Electronics?
Or maybe Edcor, Hammond, other choice in that price range.. ?
Thanks

Heard a Triode and an Edcor, they're really good.

Heard a Hammond, OK, but not as good.

Never heard a Dynakit.

Cheers!

I have used and heard Dynakitparts.com A-470's and they will sound great in your ST-70.

How do the various replacement xfmrs compare to the original Dynaco ones?

I've tried both the Triode and Dynakits. They're both excellent. The Triode's have the PFE Teflon leads, but their power transformers's secondaries tended to run about 10% high.

Measurements: Bob Latino posted some distortion chart comparisons a few years back. The results were virtually identical with the Dynakit about .1% higher at 35 kHz. The differences wouldn't have been audible (y)
