is 480v on el34s too high? if so what should i do to bring it down.

im using SS rectification with the T-Ssr01 unit.

That sounds like full rectified voltage straight off the rectifier instead of being taken off after the choke.
Headed for Tishomingo to sing in a can...

EL34s can take 800 on the anode. Just make sure that with the extra voltage that there isn't too much current. Might want to bias them a little cooler, 1.3 to 1.45 volts.
400 volts X 50ma = 20 watts. [:)
480 volts X 50 ma = 24 watts. =:o
480 X 45 ma = 21.6 watts or 1.4 volts bias. [:)
At first I wanted to be a ET. Now I are one.
