ST70 bottom plate available?

Postby zogher » Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:53 pm

Hi,

Restoring a friend's ST70 that is missing its bottom plate. I want to install one as operating without it (depending what it's sitting on) is a little bit dangerous with all that wire exposed. I've been looking online and haven't found anyone selling just the bottom plate, it's either the chassis or the chassis WITH the bottom plate. Anyone know of anyone just selling the bottom plate by itself?

Thanks,
Chris

Available from Triode, but pricey.

It shouldn't be too hard to fabricate a cheap one out of
mild steel, aluminum or perforated sheet. Any local
sheet metal shop with a brake can make two bends.

Holy shite! :-o

I guarantee that's about $5 of steel and 20 minutes of labour for the holes.

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Yikes!

Can someone make it for me for half that price? =) If I only had a bending brake...

I think my friend's obviously going to pass on that...
