WTB New or re-wound A-470

Postby xlr8 » Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:31 am

Hello all,

I've recently discovered that I need an output transformer for my 2nd st-70 build and was wondering if anyone out there would take an old one as a core towards a new or re-wound A-470? What kind of prices would we be talking about?

Thanks folks!

Triode sells them. $95 each.

"It's a different experience; the noise occlusion, crisp, clear sound, and defined powerful bass. Strong bass does not corrupt the higher frequencies, giving a very different overall feel of the sound, one that is, in my opinion, quite unique."

Every now and then a single A470 shows up on ebay and are usually cheap!

I went ahead and ordered one from T.E. I was able to get my first amp going and sounding really nice, so I figured the extra money was worth it.

Either way, I have one that has been primed and painted, but has an open primary. If anyone wants one to play with, send me a pm and I'll pack it up and send it to you for free. It looks like new on the outside now and I just hate to throw it away...
