Hi im very interested in purchasing an older ST 70 of ebay and doing it up so I can have a nice power amp for home, but cant seem to find what the input voltage’s are.
My question is can the ST 70 be run on a 230/240 50hz vac supply

NO! About 99.9% of ST70's were 115v 60hz. You will need a PA-521 transformer from Triode or Dynakitparts, it has dual primaries and is rated for 50hz.

You can also use a step down transformer rated at 3 amps on the 120 volt side or a variac, but that can be dangerous if someone would turn the knob the wrong way...

Eeeek! NO!
The PA-060 runs hot enough on 60Hz. 50Hz will be a fire hazard!
Cheers!
