Hi, this is my ask:
I have read that in a Minimum vol. a ST-70 works in class A.
This is correct ?
how much volume to works in Class A ?
Can hear the difference when you change to mode b ?

Hi,

All non class-B tube audio amps work as class-A at low volumes.

Until the input waveform pushes one of the tubes into cutoff while the other picks up the swing, it's in class-A

I have heard claims that the first 15W are class A watts. I suspect it is less.

10-15W of audio power is the range that most people listen to music at, a comfortable listening level.

When people buy solid state amps with power greater than 200W, they do not play the music louder than with a smaller amp. They do so to get elevated bass levels and less distortion at their customary listening levels.

The difference when the amp shifts from A to AB1 is more distortion in the sound, not to mention more volume.
