Xfmr no center-tap for filament winding

The PA060 transformer's 6.3v windings are grounded via a .02 capacitor.
How important is this connection?
I'm asking because I like to use a toroidal transformer instead of the PA060, but doesn't have this center tap.

If you experience some hum, the simplest, most common way
is to put a 100 Ohm resistor from each side of the filament
transformer to your common ground. That balances the
winding to ground. 1 watt resistors are good.

Thanks, Tom. I think that's exactly the info I needed.
