That should work just fine ... it's always OK to go higher in voltage.

i see in the manual: slots R7,R8,R22 and R23 : 47K 1/2W
but i see many differences between manual and resistors in the kit
I have 4 resistors with colours yellow, violet, black, red and brown, can fill this slots ? (???)

I'm not familiar with that board ...

I usually measure those 5 banded resistors with an ohmmeter,
because the colors are often hard to decipher.

Have you listened to an ST-70 with one of these driver boards? Class A operation.

Yes I have. Not wanting to start a war here I will just say I wasn't impressed. SY on the diyaudio board has a superior driver board that he designed that uses 6SL7/5691's with Fets and transformers that sounds superior in my opinion.

What do you think it is about the topology that makes it superior?
What are the subjective qualities you like? About the only audiophile overlap I have with my studio friends is their recognition of the use of Lundahl transformers in high-end studio applications, so I'd be a bit surprised their major US distributor failed to devise a competent schematic. Of course, this is not to say it would be impossible...

Best.

Its simple, and has low distortion. ;)

Brinkman I suggest that if your really interested you build it and listen to it and see if it fits your needs sonically. (???) (???)

I'm not even sure we're referencing the same schematic. I found one for a "SYclotron" at SY's website, so I'll have to contact him and see if it's indeed what we're talking about.

At any rate, I'd be open to giving it a try, but I promised myself I'd run my current board through the gamut (adjusting the input tranny gain, rolling tubes, wiring for ultralinear, etc...) before I traded horses entirely. There's a lot that can be done with these boards before stating any sort of preference...
