What to do next

Postby leadtower » Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:19 pm

Hi All; I have a question about what to try next on the ST 70. I have the SDS cap board/The DIY Tube driver board/on that I replaced the coupling and filter caps with Angela oil caps; the resistors with Tantalums or Rikens. I have Shannons upgraded parts installed. New tubes and sockets. I am wondering if anyone thinks that trying to go triode with the EL 34's is worthwhile. Also I have a Handmade Power trans. What I am looking for is the next mod to this amp. It sounds gorgeous now but I know some people go triode and mess with the feedback and some other changes.
So I am wondering if there is any advice on new mods.
The next question is should I build the Eiclones and will it have a clear advantage in sound over my existing amp?
Thanks; this is a blast the sound I am getting from this amp!
