6L6 Clementine FS

Postby TerrySmith » Sat Oct 04, 2014 9:01 am

We are packing up to sell our house and I need to thin down the herd. First up is my Clementine that is built on a blank MK-3 chassis. It started out as a 1626 build but replaced the defective power trans with a Hammond 270DX and now uses triode strapped 6L6 tubes. 6V6's can be used too. There is a write up in the Clementine section.

Includes Russian NOS 6P3S pair, 80's ECG 6SL7 and a used 5V4G. This amp sounds great as it is or you can modify it to suite your taste!
Asking $250.00 + $20.00 shipping.

Out of curiosity, where did you get a blank MK III Chassis?

I think I found it on e-pay from the soundtastick guy, he used to sell a blank ST-70 also. Too bad you can't get them anymore as they were handy sizes.

Are you staying in the Knoxville area, Terry? I'm thinning my stash, too, before putting the house on the market. My Klipsch Chorus IIs are gone - wow, they took up some space!

Yes, I live in Maryville, just south of Knoxville. Thinking of moving here?

Funny you should mention it, we are selling our house too, not moving away, just need a basement for our hobbies!

Hmmm, you're located near the far end of the "Tail of the Dragon" (Deal's Gap) from here...

Nope - thinking Oregon. August in TN is too hot and humid for me. I actually lived in Maryville, TN back in 1994. I remember a loud dirt track down the road on Friday nights. My landlord gave me some HUGE peanuts to plant when I moved back north.

Terry was really good to work with. The craftsmanship is great, and more importantly the sound absolutely marvelous. We're so lucky for so few dollars to be treated to audio like this. This particular amp is a Christmas gift from a wife to her husband who is a musician and has had some health challenges. She asked if I could put together a little system on a budget. I've got it paired with the old DCM CX17 speakers on beautiful stands, and this Clementine sounds fantastic.

I may need some help getting a second GSG finished in time for the holidays. The first has been playing for a friend for years.

These design have been great for me.

Nice to witness the holiday spirit and true friendship.
