I need a PAS 2 or 3 carcass!

Postby TerrySmith » Fri Feb 18, 2005 8:54 pm

Anyone got a PAS- preamp (not working ok) to sell? All I need is the basic case, and maybe controls and knobs, or a dead unit. I have a new trans from Uncle Ned, and new resto-boards. I would prefer the aluminum face. Thanks fella's!

Hopefully the ugly rackmount tabs and the 'no red light' will discount that second unit. Geesh, I can't believe these PAS preamps are going for so much!

Here's an empty chassis, no guts, no faceplate, listed on ebay for pretty cheap:

Thanks for your help guys! I have enough PAS stuff to keep me occupied for a while.

BTW Shannon, the second link you sent turned out to be a PAS-3X, with all 4 Telefunkens still in place! The selenium stack is burned to a char, hopefully the transformer is ok.

Hi Terry,

$115 shipped for a PAS-X? Nice pick up! Geez, the Telefunkens could subsidize the purchase.

Selenium rectifiers are timebombs - I can't believe all the ST70's still using their original ones in the bias circuit.
