Wanted Altec 15095 or 15095A transformers

Postby burnedfingers » Thu Aug 11, 2011 4:56 am

I would like to purchase a pair of transformers 15095's or 15095A's. Need to be 2) of either the 95's or 2) of the A's. Do not want one of each.

Will buy out right or trade for a pair of your choice of what I have extras of.

I have two matching 15335A's, two 15356A's and 2) 15015A's

6bg6ga, I don't mean this to sound like a flame or something...but when you just list a bunch of numbers like this without telling us what these are, it's a royal PITA to go on the web and try to quiz out what it is you have and what you want.
A description of what these transformers are would be helpful for people to decide whether they want to go out of their way to try to find something for you. Otherwise, you're just hoping to get lucky someone knows what these all are and has what you want...which might be all you're trying to do?

Blitzen

I will try to respond without pictures. Is there a way to post pictures without using something like photobucket?

First of all the Altec/Peerless transformers to which I have mentioned are of the octal variety.

The 15335A is a bridging transformer used in the Altec 9440 power amp to provide an input of 15K and an output of 15K with a 1:1 ratio.

The 15015A is also a bridging transformer 15K to 15K

The 15356A is a line transformer capable of using either a 150 ohm or 600 ohm input to a 600 ohm output.

The 15095A or 15095 is a microphone transformer with a 150 ohm primary and a 5oK secondary.

I was under the impression that most here have either been in the trade or have a knowledge of what I am seeking. Sorry, have been playing with these transformers for years and made the assumption that people would't have any problems understanding what I was looking for.

I'm looking to make a MC to MM phono step up. Moving coil to moving magnet. Good for about 20db of gain roughly.
