Driven by a 6*2P-EV SRPP, cathode feedback on the OPT's. Sounds rather good!

I'll post a schematic as soon as I've written it out nicely.

Looks very nice, great quality work!

PM sent, I had a couple of "technical" questions about it
(???) [:)

6AV5s were used in TVs as sweep tubes? 11W plate dissipation is a limiting factor. I'd like to see a schematic.

The gray rectangular plate GE's have been torture tested at over 18w plate dissipation by the inimitable Tubelab of DIY Audio. They hold up amazingly well, and are a happy accident of the late era of tubes when manufacturers would stuff just anything in a bottle as long as it tested near what it should. I think I'm running them at not much more than 11W anyway, but I'll have to double-check. They should last very, very long in this design :)

I run my 6*V5GA SE amp at 18-20 watts PD, with no ill effects, Tubelab George took them well beyond that.

Some of the RCAs and others have wimpy plate structures, with large "slots" between the plate and the radiating fins, which seriously erduced their heat dissipation capabilities, and these tubes would start glowing red at lower plate dissipations than those with the better plate structures.

The Sylvanias and DuMonts (relabelled Sylvies) have hefty he-man plate structures, and can be run hard, and they sound better for it. Not all RCAs have the wimpy plates, so give them a look ,before buying or using them.

The tubes in Soren's amp have the good plate structures, the small slots are located away from the plate's main section.

11W was a very conservative rating, for a horizontal sweep tube, which would operate within in a confined area, usually while covered with all manner of dust, cat hairs, dead bugs, spider webs, cigarette smoke residue and other nasty stuff, and faithfully run for many years without failure.

An audio amp would be like a "walk in the park" for these tubes.

I was looking at the 6HV5A to drive big tubes. They have 35W PD, but they are rumored to not like "low" voltages (< 900Vdc) as drivers.

I do not know what they can do as SE triodes. The tubelab dude speculated that 700Vdc would be a good starting point.

EDIT: 7-8W output @1300V configured as a "spud".
