Dynaco Stereo 70 with Mapletree Driver board for sale

Postby burnedfingers » Sat Dec 12, 2009 10:04 am

I am letting go of one of my 1/2 dozen Dynaco Stereo 70 amplifiers. I thought I would bypass the typical ebay crap and give someone here a shot first. The amplifier has had the chassis stripped of the nickle plating and has had a chrome plating job. The chassis used to be a GSI amp. It features a Mapletree driver board, heavy duty power transformer, Triode electronics power supply cap board, Technitrol 454326 Z326 output transformers, and individual bias pots. I kept the power supply cap on the chassis to cover the hole. It has a cage. I have 5693 and Russian 6Sl7 driver tubes and EI EL34's for output tubes and a Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier tube. It has 1N4007 diodes prior to the 5AR4 rectifier tube to take the strain off the 5AR4. This is a very good sounding amp. If interested send me a message and I will send pictures and answer any questions. I am asking $625.00 OBO plus shipping.

When I figure out how to attach a picture I will put one up.

6b, I think you can answer a question for me regarding using the 6bg6ga's in a ST70 chassis.

If you plug a 6bg6ga into an octal socket (without the adapter and keeping power off, of course), will the factory ST70 cage fit? If so, what is the clearance to the top of the ceramic cap, if any, thanks!

To answer your question the 6bg6ga with the cap generally has a height of 4.475'' to a EL34's height of 3.775 there is roughly 3/4'' clearance between the top of a EL34 and the cage. The clearance with a 6bg6ga without the adapter is 1/4''. Now there are variations between tubes and tube brands. The Phillips 6BG6GA will fit with the cage on. With an adapter the 6BG6GA will not fit however.

Note* The Mapletree Dynaco that I have put up for sale uses EL34's in its current state.

To answer an email the Mapletree Driver board is a $200.00 board. I paid an additional $50.00 for two russian 6Sl7's and two Phillips 6SJ7's. I will also include these tubes.

I will consider any reasonable offer....

I sold it on ebay.

I do have one Dynaco left that has a hand made driver board with a Mapletree circuit.
