I started a class in Russian, but quickly dropped out. Strange alphabet.

Much later, I visited Russia. It was interesting how similar the Cyrillic alphabet is to English. Traffic stop signs say: CTOP. It seems that C sounds like our S?

The Russian names of the 12 months are the same as in English, too!

Wiesiek: Polish and Russian language are very similar, so you should be able to understand a lot of the Russian language. I guess much of the Polish grammar is similar to Russian.

The 32 letters in the Russian alphabet is easy to grasp, many look and sound the same as Latin. Besides the various letters have a very defined sound, so as soon you have learned the Cyrillic alphabet you can prounce Russian words. It's not like English words like tuff (spelled 'tough') or tho (spelled 'though') ...

Yes, I am. Especially, since I had to learn Russian for 7 years at school. Our grammars are different, though. Theirs is more complicated as I recall.

May 24 is also my birthday, but the year wasn't 863 ;) more like 1949.

I always wonderedif the Cyrillic alphabet may have had some Greek influence (the D is a modifed "Delta", the "L" is a modified Lambda, and the "F" is "Phi".

Back to the original topic - I'd strongly suspect that the "right hand" end of the Green K42 PIO caps is also the outer foil. I have a bunch of these, and a couple with one or both leads broken off, so I could always perform an autopsy on one of them... I figure that the Russian Industrio-Military Complex probably had a rather rigid set of standards, and any bad production probably earned the "perpetrators" an extended "vacation" in some Siberian gulag >:o

At first I wanted to be a ET. Now I are one.

FWIW, these (or very similar) skunkskin caps are available at Merciar's Apple Store in Blue Ridge GA. They also have the more traditional Davy Crockett coonskin caps. I suspect that these contain no actual animal fur, and are definitely NOT of local origin (can you say "Made in China" ? sure, you can ) ;)
