According to his FaceBook page, Ed Brown passed away on Oct. 11, 2017. Scores of his real-life friends posted condolences. One of Ed's friends maintains that he experienced a heart attack. Does anyone on diytube.com have any further info?

I was hoping - for some, obscure reason - that the postings were untrue, but here's Ed's obit. It has to be his.

Such sad news. Ed was always an inspiration and had the answers to our questions, and a great sense of humor in his posts. I will miss him and think of his wisdom when I refer back to posts he made over the years.
RIP my friend.

Ed was the first person to join the diytube forums in March 2003. At that time I had no idea how important he would be to these forums or to my life. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Here's a picture of me and Ed back in July of 2007.

dammit.
he was my favorite guy in here.
he was a wealth of information, and super-nice man with a great sense of humor. he seemed to have unlimited patience for even the most ignorant questions, and he was an encyclopedia of peripheral tube-related factoids/history/anecdotes/etc..... what a massive loss.
RIP Mr.Brown; you are missed.
