Vacuum Tube Time Machine

Tronola.com has just published a new construction article, covering the reproduction of a quartz crystal clock. The design was first published in 1957 by Scientific American. I was drawn to this project by memories of one built by my big brother, Bill, in 1961. With its crystal oscillator, regulated power supply, analog frequency dividers and high-voltage power amp, some may find it interesting. http://www.tronola.com/

Hi EW,

Wow, that's a very impressive clock! Would love to find out more about it. And to think I was worried about what mine would cost to operate! :)

Glad that you have the original Scientific American article. I wish I could have included a link to a scan but the prospects for getting permission didn't look good.
