Tube replacements

Hi all!
Totally new to to this, but hoping one of you may be able to help me. I have recently purchased a Palace SA-80s tube amp. It's an older model from the 60's which was what I was looking for to give me a warmer sound on the music I listen too.
Due to the age of the amp, and the fact this is my first "tube" amplifier. I am not entirely sure how it should be sounding the bulbs appear to have black coating at one end, I'm not sure if this is a sign of a damaged one or indeed if that's how they should look. I was also hoping I could replace the original tubes. They are a model called Ten 30A5 x1 and Ten 12ax7
Any info or help would be great.
Thanks
Simo
