12U7 (not 12AU7) headphone amp circuit

Postby Ludwig » Tue Aug 04, 2015 10:01 pm

After spending a few years just working off PCBs, I've decided to go "skinny dipping" and try a point-to-point amp.

Thought I'd start simple and do a little hybrid headphone amp.

This circuit was designed for a 12AU7, but to be honest i don't think 12v on the plates of a 12AU7 will do anything.

Luckily, I have a spare 12U7 http://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/137/1/12U7.pdf

The circuit is attached.
Can anyone assist in determining what resistor changes I'll need to make to adapt it to the 12U7 tube?

This is a very simple and interesting circuit.
I've been looking for a battery powered tube amp for headphones.

Where did you find it? Has anyone improved on this circuit?
