There be monsters....

Redistributed and liberated from another website: [:)

Each channel has 42 6AS7Gs, plus six other "support" tubes =:o $) (banana) p[

The Atma-Sphere MA-3s put out 500 watts of Class A triode bliss into virtually any load. Each of the 3 banks of output tubes (14 6AS7G each) can be switched on or off to manage power and heat, the latter which is about 850 watts with all tubes on. 42 output tubes each. One stage of gain and no feedback. Built in power conditioning and can operate with no reduction in output power with as little as 95 volts in from the wall. Built in tube testing and automatic biasing, too.

Well that's 1323 watts of filament, 850 of audio and some more lost to the great audio gods. A 120 volt 20 amp breaker won't handle it. Maybe it needs it's own 220 volt service? Time for those guys that make $2000 power cords to get me another connection to the power pole.
At first I wanted to be a ET. Now I are one.

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Or he is in possession of about a million 6AS7Gs he has to get rid of... :/ *) ;) (lol)

It would have to be powered off two separate 120VAC circuits, or a 240VAC circuit, which would be a tiny bit more efficient, in terms of wiring IR losses O:)

wow...84 6AS7s with AUTOBIAS just so you can go OTL?
Only useful for the shock and awe of that in your living room. Hope he lives in a colder climate.
I hope each bank is individually switched so you can even out tube life.

Without even hoisting one of these on the test bench, I can tell the noise floor is unacceptable...

...due to the AC running non-stop. (banana)

I think we need a "ba dum tss" animated gif.
