VFD is basically a crude simple triode, filament, grid(s) anode(s) which glow blue-green when there is current flow. Typically, Filament is 2.4V @ 80 mA, plate and grid voltages +/- 24V max, YMMV, etc. Mu, gm, RP is anybody's guess. Probably as microphonic as a guitar pickup

Might be mounted on its own board, stuck to the main with DS Sorbothane tape. (saw that done with a mic cart. once)
I tried playing with a VFD as a triode once.... had a mu of 1.4 or 1.6 or something. NOISY as heck from the phosphor (making photons, freeing electrons and all that rubbish).
