As in New Tube, a combined Korg / Noritake project, the 6P1:

Well, ain't that just slick! :))

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Maybe it is still "vaporware" :/ (lol) :o)

My guess from the appearance is a build kinda like a VFD and just "triodey" enough to make the harmonic content w/o DSP.

Just a guess, though.

VFD is basically a crude simple triode, filament, grid(s) anode(s) which glow blue-green when there is current flow.
Typically, Filament is 2.4V @ 80 mA, plate and grid voltages +/- 24V max, YMMV, etc.
Mu, gm, RP is anybody's guess. (???) *)
Probably as microphonic as a guitar pickup =:o :/ :'( :( @=

Might be mounted on its own board, stuck to the main with DS Sorbothane tape.
(saw that done with a mic cart. once)

I tried playing with a VFD as a triode once.... had a mu of 1.4 or 1.6 or something. NOISY as heck from the phosphor (making photons, freeing electrons and all that rubbish).

Cheers!

Maybe it is designed to give off loads of harmonics = not suitable for HiFi/audio.

On the other hand, could this be a planar triode? And how "good" is a planar triode? (Got a 2C39A for future projects).

Blackburn was developing planar 12AX7's when they went bankrupt. Missed the release dates twice.

As one engineer at another forum suggested, "I think planar physics got in the way" ;)
