Installing Panel Meters

Postby Ron944 » Tue Sep 30, 2014 1:21 pm

Hi, I am building a version of the JE Labs 300B stereo amp and want to add a pair of 200Ma panel meters to measure bias. I realize that I have to hookup the meter in series with the Cathode resistor, as the cathode and heater are the same connections and as I am adding hum pots (couldn't find 50 Ohm, 10 turn pots so I am using a 10 Ohm single turn pot with 2-22 Ohm resistors) I am confused as to where to insert the meter. I have attached a partial schematic that I borrowed from another post (It is the one on the right ). Also can I leave the meters in circuit when in use or add switches when I want to measure it. Thanks in advance,

Ron

I'd put them between the 900ohm resistor and ground.

Thanks, is it okay to leave in in circuit when playing?

Yep, a good meter will last over 30 years in service.
