Tube rectifier capacitance beyond the pi filter

I see the max uF for the first cap in the data sheets, but how much can you add after the first filter section?

Does a tube rectifier offer lower ripple over SS?

Unless it's a very small inductor or resistor, the second capacitor can be almost anything.

Yes, because a tube rectifier has more resistance than a silicone diode, so the peak is smaller, if you use the same capacitors. But you can have much more capacitance with silicone, so usually there is less ripple with silicone.

Unless they are silicone breast implants then more ripple would be better. (lol)
