In a shop somewhere I scored two NOS GZ34 tubes for $50. They are a US Made Sylvania and a British General Electric. What do you think?

For a few years - before I went SS, I paid $90 a pop for NOS Amperex Bugle Boy 5ar4s. Those tubes will perform on par with the Amperex, at only $25 per tube.

I had bad luck with the , the Sylvaina 5AR4's , had 3 NOS would drop more voltage than a 5U4GB .

We will just have to see what B+ comes out to be on the Sylvania.

My Sylvania delivers 490 volts B+ in my modded MKIII at full load.

No dud tube there. battradio, what circuit did you use your bad 5AR4's in. Statistics say there are bad apples in every bunch. Circuits that draw more current will obviously be affected more.

I have one "Dynaco" labeled GZ34, which tests as having absolutely no emissions, the filament lights up, and there is no "white fog" on the glass.

I'm thinking that the anode pins may need to be re-soldered, as they may have corroded "open"... :/ *) (???) :'(

I guess I can't complain too loudly, it was a freebie, just one, in a box o' plinkers...
