Source for ceramic top caps?

Postby Blair » Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:39 am

Where do you guys get your top caps? I see tons from Asia, but not much from the states on eBay.

The 6146 does not have the diameter mentioned, but rather a # C1-1?

What size is that?

Thanks!

Right, but don't they have a $40 min. Order policy?

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Angela doesn't have a min order policy. It seems I've bought from Steve Melkisethian for years as they were an early tube reseller (with Handmade, AES and Triode). They also sell items on eBay, so sometimes if you just need a socket or two it will save you money shipping-wise (i.e. skirting the default UPS ground charge with USPS).

I ordered top capos for 829/832 from ePay. They cost me a lot, but I have so far, not find anything like it.
Next problem is to fix a cap for my GU-72 which has a 1 1/2-2" top cap ... =:o

You might also check out "Hamventions". I got just essss-loads of nice ceramic top caps at the Dayton Hamvention for much less than I ever saw them on-line.
