Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Any more info? I did a Google search and was redirected back here, LOL. Looks like EL84 drivers.

He calls it the BeePre 300B. It's on the Bottlehead site, under products.

Seems like an awfully expensive tube for preamp duty.
"It's a different experience; the noise occlusion, crisp, clear sound, and defined powerful bass. Strong bass does not corrupt the higher frequencies, giving a very different overall feel of the sound, one that is, in my opinion, quite unique."

The two EL84s are for individual B+shunt regulators. Pricey, just short of $1200...

I remember reading a JRB "tube cad" article, about the possibilities of using big power triodes for linestages, Doc B has brought this to life [:)

It's called the "BeePre" on the Bottlehead website

The Asians love 'em. My Borealis, the Space-Tech Legend and Manley unit until now were the only three commercial units in existence.

Oh, how I wishI had known more about the desirability of 300Bs, way back in 1985, when the Western Electric plant in Lawrence,
Massachusetts was unloading their entire stock of NOS NIB 300Bs for $15 each at the local area hamfests. Along with a wide variety of other Western Electric tubes. Little did I know back then...

I asked one of my friends who worked there, if the 300Bs were useful for RF power, he told me, they were used in analog
telephone repeaters and audio amplifiers. So I (ignorantly) decided that they weren't too useful for my purposes back then... :'( :( :'( :( :'(

Hi,

AFAIK, Doc Bottlehead's schematics are proprietary and you'll have to write them for one.

Cheers!
