The hum pots are more important if you are usingany high gain preamp or phono stages, for a power amp, just use two 47 to 100ohm resistors in series, ground then at the junction between the resistors, to act as a virtual center tap.


Also you could use two 0.1 uF caps in series, and ground the junction between them, this would allow the 12AT7 heater-to-cathode voltage to float, but still have an AC "ground" reference.
