Wireless Headphone

Postby Vince » Wed Jun 04, 2008 9:34 pm

I picked up a Jensen CLV-A900T 900Mhz wireless headphone set. No manual. The audio input to the base unit is by a pair of RCA jacks.
Where does the other end of the cable hook up to? The speaker terminals?
If so which tap 4, 8, or 16 ohm?
Is it reasonable to connect this to a tube amp? I really don't know if this setup is functional so I will try it with a SS unit first.
Thanks, Vince

Wireless headphones usually have a built in receiver (900 MHz) and amplifier. I suspect the other end of the RCA jacks would go into a preamp output. I wouldn’t hook any power amp up to the base unit for fear of frying the unit.

Hi,

When you get it working, check the frequency response. The ones we sold for RS had various boost/cut built in them to compensate for the "dimestore" headphone units that came with them Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_20

Cheers!
