Seeing that 6P15P-EV / SV83s have a stated G2 rating of 150VDC (though I can contest that), I just had a crazy idea...
Then there are the players like Steve Deckert, Jef Larson, (and myself) who simply throw caution to the wind, ignore the dire warnings in the SV83 data sheets, and plow ahead, and we haven't started a massive SV83 / 6P15P-EV extinction, yet) Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_06
Howzabout running it SE with G1 grounded, and G2 being directly fed by a 6N2P, (with 300VDC B+, 120K Rp and 1K RK, for 1.2 mA plate current). That places the 6N2P plate and the SV83's G2 pretty close to 150VDC, with no signal input. No coupling caps, and a very low parts count!
The SV83 would get the usual 365VDC B+, 5K SE OPT and 300 ohm RK for 45 mA, or 400 ohms for 35 mA idle curent.
I would SWAG that if it were to work for an SV83, it should also work for a 6BQ5 / EL84 / 6P14P, etc, as well...
Would this fly, or would it crash and burn :o
