I think the 12BH7 is a good upgrade from the 12AU7 in the DIY35 boards, I also like the JJ ECC99 as well. I swapped a bunch of tubes after I built one up a few weeks ago and ended up settling on a smooth plate tele 12AX7 and a blackplate RCA 12BH7.

I have to agree with Matt...I am ended up running the same combo in my DIY35. The smooth plate 'funken 12AX7 and an RCA black plate 12BH7. I had a JAN 5751 in for a while but the Telefunken has a sweeter tone in the highs.
I was running EI Elites for the EL84s but a quad of TAD EL84s took their spot and are likely to remain.
