Bad pot?

Hi All,

You didn't mention what, if any, experience you have in working on older tube amps. If you would let us know your skill level (or comfort level--how involved do you want to get), I'm sure we'll be able to get you running, or at least help you figure out what's wrong.

I doubt seriously that it's the volume pot, but never say never . . .

What model is it and do you have a schematic? Oscilloscope perchance?

I do believe there was a 'bad pot' problem around then, mostly being sold to Berkeley kids. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_16

Mesherm has maybe sniffed it out for you (the page references the 120 if you have the 721):
