Big Dog tube project ideas?

I think the PP 300B is a little too complex for me. Most of the schematics and information on them seems over-the-top and over-budget. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_14
My new/old thought is a bi-amp tube stereo system with a pair of efficient, good quality, mid-sized floor speakers and an Adcom GFP-710 preamp. I was thinking the ST70 to run the bass from the main output and a SET (maybe the Time Bandit 300B) to run the highs from the bypass output.
What do you think? Are the any audio or compatibility problems with this setup???
